If your school is too far away to visit the National Archives of Scotland (NAS) in Edinburgh for a workshop, book a Glow Meet or video conferencing session instead.

How do I link up with the NAS?
You can web conference with us via Glow. We can also deliver sessions using standard video conferencing equipment via IP broadband or ISDN telephone line.

Using Glow Meet
The NAS has a National Glow Group from which you can access our Glow Meets. You will find our Group listed on Glow’s National Site. To Glow Meet, you will need a computer or laptop linked to an interactive whiteboard, a microphone and webcam, and access to a Glow account. We meet teachers online at least two weeks in advance of the first session to test the link and to finalise the content to be covered.

What will it cost?
There is no cost attached to using Glow or an IP connection.
If you use an ISDN connection, we ask that you dial us up and meet the cost of the call.

How to book

Step 1. Choose your title
Select your title from our Schools Programme.

Step 2. Choose your date(s) and time(s)
Our web or video conferencing sessions are available, by arrangement, between 10:00 and 15:00 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 September 2011 to 29 March 2012. You can book a single 30-minute session that will focus on one aspect of a topic or you can book up to a maximum of three sessions for greater depth.

Step 3. Make a provisional booking
Once you have chosen your title, number of sessions and preferred date(s), please phone or email us to make a provisional booking. Advance booking is essential with a minimum of two weeks prior notice.

Step 4. Confirm your booking
Download a booking form and photographic permission form, complete and return them to us to confirm your booking. You will receive confirmation by email within 5 working days.

Please note that provisional bookings must be confirmed within two weeks. Cancellations require 24 hours notice.
